Position Overview:
Sydney Business School is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Adjunct Professor in Accounting & Risk. The successful candidate will have significant academic and professional experience in the areas of accounting, financial management, and risk analysis. This position provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the teaching and research in one of the fastest-growing fields of business education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching & Curriculum Delivery: Teach and develop undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Accounting, Financial Risk Management, Corporate Finance, Risk Analysis, and related subjects.
- Research & Scholarship: Lead and contribute to cutting-edge research in accounting, risk management, corporate governance, and financial regulation. Publish research findings in top-tier academic journals and present at academic conferences.
- Student Supervision: Mentor and supervise postgraduate students’ theses, projects, and research work in accounting, finance, and risk management.
- Curriculum Development & Review: Contribute to the continuous development and enhancement of the accounting and risk management curriculum, ensuring it aligns with global industry trends and academic best practices.
- Industry Collaboration: Foster relationships with key stakeholders in the accounting and finance industries to create opportunities for student internships, guest lectures, and real-world case studies.
- Academic Leadership: Participate actively in departmental activities, academic committees, and faculty governance to support the overall strategic goals of the Business School.
Selection Criteria:
- Academic Qualifications: A Ph.D. or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, or a closely related field is preferred.
- Professional Experience: At least 10 years of relevant academic or industry experience in accounting and/or risk management, with a strong understanding of contemporary practices, regulations, and trends.
- Research Excellence: A strong record of published research in accounting, finance, and risk management, with a focus on high-quality, peer-reviewed academic journals.
- Teaching Experience: Demonstrated experience in teaching at the tertiary level, with the ability to deliver engaging and impactful learning experiences for postgraduate students.
- Industry Networks: Established relationships within the accounting and risk management sectors, and a commitment to applying real-world knowledge to the classroom.
- Leadership & Communication Skills: Strong leadership qualities, the ability to work in a collaborative and diverse environment, and effective communication skills to engage with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
